Writer's Digest is sponsoring their 5th Annual Poetry Contest.Deadline is December 15, 2009 and prizes range from $25-$500 for 10th through 1st place. Eleventh through 25th place winners get a $50 gift certificate for Writer's Digest Books, which is not too shabby a prize either.

Karen, I love to write poetry. Eventually I want to write a book of poetry for kids. Picture book style. That is one of my dreams.
I might get something ready for next year. My book is taking all my extra time right now. Extra time. Hmmm, I don't have any of that actually. :)

I think my poetry days are over. I thrived on reading it and writing it in college and since I've been electrified by my fiction characters.
