Thanks and Blessings
Thank you, dear blogging friends, for your faithful support and comments! Despite the fact that I was unable to make my usual blog hopping routine last week, you remained true and blessed me with your presence. I wasn't even able to reply to your comments, for the computer I had access to wouldn't allow me to do so. Perhaps you heard me shouting my replies from Michigan?
Your comments truly warmed my heart; I count you all among my blessings. It is a wonderful thing to have such a great community of writer friends.
As you know, I had planned an unplug week that was supposed to coordinate with the doctor scheduled arrival of my niece. Alas, the sweet little muffin thought better of the timing (long story) and arrived a week later. This was good for baby Joanna of course, who is doing very well, but it scrambled my schedule a tad. I was tempted to go into stress mode (okay, so I did just a little) but then thought better of it and decided to count my blessings. Last week's blessing list begins with Joanna, and is completed by all of you. Thank you.
A Blog Surprise
Be sure and stop back for a special guest post on Thursday. Won't give any hints except to say that I am excited about it! :)
What blessings are you counting this week?
Happy writing,
Karen

The blessing of cooler weather! I hate summer's heat...
ReplyDeleteIt's small, but the weather has cooled down. For that I'm grateful.
ReplyDelete~ Wendy
My healthy grandchildren are a gift.
ReplyDeleteLinda
So that's what I heard in the general direction of North...!
ReplyDeleteSorry last week was so frustrating, but glad the baby arrived successfully!

Health, family, and this awesome cup of coffe I'm drinking. And can't you give us a little hint of what's on tap for Thursday?
ReplyDeleteStephen Tremp
Alex,
ReplyDeleteI don't care for summer temps much either. Fall is on the way:)
Wendy,
I agree! It's been a little cooler here too, and I am grateful.

Patti,
Oh yes, I second that one! You have a good week too:)
Stephen,
I'll second that as well, except I'll switch out the coffee for tea. A hint, well, the post was written by another writer...
Happy Monday everyone,

Hello Karen...So happy for you to be a new auntie with Joanna's arrival in our world. That is a BIG blessing indeed.
ReplyDeleteLet's see. I'm counting the blessing of good health (HUGE), of day trips, and of projects getting done around the house. There are always soooo many blessings to count, aren't there?
Hope your day, week, and new month go well. Susan
Stop teasing us with the suspense!!! Missed you :O)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new niece!
ReplyDeleteCongrats, as well, to new little Joanna's arrival! My special blessing is spending extra time with two-year old granddaughter as she is staying with us for a couple of days while mommy is out of town. Having fun :-)
ReplyDeleteSusan,
ReplyDeleteYes there are, and I am glad you have so many too! :)
Diane,
Missed you too! Sorry to tease you, it is mostly due to posting late and not being able to think of clever clues!
Angie,
Thank you! Glad you stopped by:)
Kenda,
Oh I bet you are having non-stop fun! My grandson is two and a half; he is such fun to watch.
Blessing and thanks to each of you,
Karen
A relaxing yet productive week. Is that an oxymoron?
ReplyDeleteI've been blessed over the past week by visits by all of my daughters. We have been having such fun although it all seems so frantic at times. The first one went home today. The rest leave Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteI've been managing to tend to some commenting over the past week during their visit, just not as much as usual.

Babies have minds of their own. *grin* Congrats Karen!
ReplyDeleteI'm thankful for my home, my man and my kiddos. :-)
Lydia,
ReplyDeleteIf it is, it's a good one! I think you can relax and be productive. It can be a matter of perspective:)
Lee,
Glad to hear the visits were good ones! Enjoy the rest of your time together with the rest of your gang.
Jessica,
Yes they do, but this is why they are so cute! Thanks, she is a sweetie. I second your thankful list:)
Thanks and blessings to each of you,
Karen
Computers can be frustrating! Glad your able to get back on. I've been away 3 of the last 4 weeks so haven't been able to visit blogs much.
ReplyDeleteBlessings this week? 1) My birthday Sunday. It was good. 2) Home for 4 days before I'm gone again for another speaking engagement. Then, home for several weeks.
Blessings,
wb
Hi Karen,
ReplyDeleteIt's easy to forget to count our blessings--especially during the stressful moments, isn't it? Actually, getting my stressful rewrites back last week helped me to stop and evaluate what's really important (I'm blogging about that tomorrow!). But I don't want to miss out on the joys of life because I'm too stressed all the time! Because truly, I do have so much to be thankful for. :-)
Hi Karen,
ReplyDeleteI have made it a habit to count my blessings. But over the past few weeks I had forgotten. Thanks for the reminder.
I am thankful for good health, my writing friends (that includes you) and my loving family and supportive friends.
Warren,
ReplyDeleteYes, it is a blessing to get past the computer challenges! Am glad you have much to be thankful for.
Jody,
We do have much to be thankful for, don't we? It is good to move ahead and press on to what we are called to do. :)
Rachna,
It is a great habit to get into! I am blessed that you count me as a friend. We've so much to be thankful for.
Blessings to each of you,
Karen
Congratulations on the sweet and safe arrival of your niece! I'm grateful for that. And I'm grateful for the incredible weekend I just spent with my family - one last summer getaway b/f school starts!
ReplyDeleteWonderful post! I'm glad that you had some time to share with your wonderful, new niece. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteI love all the blessings listed here, and I have to say that lately my biggest blessing is my family . . . from my husband and daughters to my second cousins. They are all blessings to me in so many ways. They inspire me, and comfort me. They are fun to be with, and have hearts of gold.
And I have some awesome friends, and blog friends too.
I missed you, girlfriend! So glad the wee one is doing well, and you survived with no way to comment back. That's rough for a gregarious lady like you, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteLove
Jen
I love this quote, though I've no idea who first coined it: “A good memory is one that can remember the day's blessings and forget the day's troubles.” May you have many blessings to remember!
ReplyDeleteHeather,
ReplyDeleteThank you:) Glad you had a great time with your gang. This summer is speeding by, isn't it?
Tyrean,
So many good things to be thankful for! I know you have many:)
Jeanette,
I managed, somehow. No really, I was very busy while away. Would just have liked to have been able to reply to my comments, though. Oh well, we all lived, didn't we? :P
Lisa,
That is a good quote! And you as well:)
Thanks and blessings,
Karen
I think we I counted my blessings as much as I listed my grievences to the Lord I would be jumping for joy more than I am weeping on my knees. Thank you for this loving reminder.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to thursday :)
ReplyDeleteI'm loved this blog, very nice! I'm counting blessings with revisions, with help on my critiques and just enjoying life in general :)
Anne,
ReplyDeleteI find my perspective shifts when I focus on my blessings, particularly when stressed. So the reminder is just as much for me as for anyone who wants to tag along! :)
Jen,
I am looking forward to Thursday too! :) Thanks so much, glad to hear you enjoy the blog. Feedback from blogging friends like you means a lot to me.
Thanks and blessings to both of you,
Karen
Karen,
ReplyDeleteI'm going to be listing and linking some positive and thankful blog posts tomorrow morning, and I plan on adding yours to the list. I hope you don't mind.
I still have weeds.
ReplyDeleteBut they're pretty. So I'm counting them as blessings.
Tyrean,
ReplyDeleteThat's fine! I'm flattered that you want to link to mine. You are the accomplished one in the thankfulness department:)
Sandra,
Me too! Despite the pesky things (some of which are three feet tall now, having grown in my absence), I am thankful that the peppers and zinnias are doing very well.
Blessings to each of you,
Karen
Can't wait for Thursday!
ReplyDeleteI feel blessed to be in the air conditioner right now. It's a hot one this week!
Karen:
ReplyDeleteThe blessing of friendship. I have two very close friends. One works for an older doctor in our town. The other lady is retired. My friend who's retired hears from me whenever I am in a pickle. The friend who works is the other one who hears about all my needs and frustrations.
Yesterday, I had to call the older lady and almost cry my heart out. It had been a bad day for us. I called her this morning to let her know how we fared late yesterday afternoon.
Today, my younger friend phoned me from the hospital down the street from us. Her sister had suffered a stroke. We all pray for one another.
What a heart-warming post! Congratulation on your niece arriving! Awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteCecelia,
ReplyDeleteFriends are a wonderful thing; I'm glad you have some you can count on. Will be praying for you.
Alisa,
Thank you! :) The new niece IS awesome. We are blessed.
Blessings,
Karen
Jennifer,
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to Thursday too:) Yes, I am very thankful for air conditioning. It was nearly 100 degrees here today.
Blessings,
Karen
Hi Karen -
ReplyDeleteWelcome back!
I'm thankful for a safe trip and a pleasant visit with our family.
Blessings,
Susan :)
Susan,
ReplyDeleteThank you, and welcome back to you! Glad you had a good trip:)
Blessings,
Karen
Welcome back. Congratulations, aunt. That's my "thankful for" item, actually...I'm an aunt again, too, to a little bitty girly who no one thought would ever be conceived. Welcome, Halli ("unexpected gift") Grace!
ReplyDeleteRhonda,
ReplyDeleteThanks! And congrats to you as well. Babies are fun:)
Blessings,
Karen
I was attracted by your post title, Thanks and Blessings. That is a beautiful photo too which well illustrates the idea of blessings overflowing. I'm thankful for the blessing of discovering new blogs to read and writers who have a great message to share!
ReplyDeleteConnie,
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you! Glad you enjoyed the post.
Have a wonderful weekend:)
