January Writing Prompt

It's about time for another writing prompt, don't you think? Use the following quote, either to open or within the context of a flash fiction story.

"The map is taped to the underside of the chair on the balcony," Maxwell whispered.

Who is Maxwell? Why is he whispering? Who is he talking to? Why is there a map taped to the chair? Where does the map lead? Tell us, tell us! I await your response, and hope that maybe you will grant me permission to share your story here. It's okay if if you choose not to, but my readers and I sure do like a good story. You retain all story rights, of course. Email me at karenelange@gmail.com

Blessings and Happy Writing! :)

I've used them at writing seminars before.

  11. Karen, I hope you share too. I thought I might try to do it, but I'll have to see. So much going on, but that prompt is just too good.

Thank you for your comment yesterday on Christopher's birthday. I have pasted them all into a word doc. and he plans on framing them and putting them on his wall. Plus I put them all into a folder. :-)

  13. Patti,
Thanks so much for the link! Am heading over to check it out now. Would love to hear what you have to say about a prompt...but work comes first:) Am thinking I'd like to give it a go, but have to get some projects out of the way first.
    Blessings!

  14. Robyn,
Am contemplating it, but need to get a few other things out of the way...but maybe I can squeeze it in! Glad your son got so many bday wishes! What a nice way to save and savor the memories!
    Blessings:)

  15. Cecelia, I agree! Perhaps with a cup of hot chocolate (you knew I'd work chocolate in there somewhere!) or tea or coffee to keep you toasty too.
    Blessings:)

  17. Maxwell needs to be the hero, preferably an alpha. LOL! (That's why he's bossing the heroine around)

  18. Jessica,
I had similar thoughts, but I guess we'll see!
    Thanks for stopping:)
