Miscellaneous Monday

Have you had snow this winter? I suspect many of you have. The second portion of the winter here in north central Kentucky has been colder, with more snowfall too. Not complaining, I don't mind the white stuff as long as the roads are clear in a timely manner and I can get out to replenish my dark chocolate stash. :)

For those of you who don't care for winter, take heart. Spring always comes! Here are a few links that might help take your mind off the chilly weather.

  1. It's been a mild winter here, a relief after two winters of lots of snow and bitter cold. Last week was bitter, but this week is going to be in the 30's and almost get to 50 the end of the week. Lots of good walks with my dog this week.

  2. I'm in South Florida, so no snow for me. I'll check out the links.

  3. Natalie,
Sounds like you've got a good week ahead! Enjoy the warmer weather! :)

    Medeia,
I'm sure many of us farther north would take a little of your sunshine! :)

    Happy writing,

  4. I used to be really bad about head hopping.

We've had only a dusting of snow this year. Last two years we had much more though.

  5. Hi Karen! We got about 4 inches all together this weekend, so it's very do-able. I'm not really tired of winter yet, it's been a very unusual one. Not as cold, not as much snow.
I'm working on writing and reading more. I know writers should read, but finding the time to read is tough! I also have a few speaking things coming up, my first ones. Yikes! Anxiety producing, but exciting too.
    Happy Monday :)

  6. You tickled me, amigo. :As long as the roads are cleared in a timely manner.) *snort* That isn't possible for us (think mountain road). *weeping* We are in the midst of one right now. Oh well. Might as well be here in the office creating. :-) Love, Susan and Laurel. Jerry, too. Popping over to see you. XOXOXO

  7. I love winter. However, out here in CA we don't get too much of that unless we trek to Tahoe. One year I'm going to find a mountain cabin and move there for the winter to see if I can understand snow.

  9. Diane,
This year has been milder snow and temperature wise, hasn't it? It's been kind of a lite winter. lol :)

    Ceil,
We got 4 inches here too, so it wasn't too bad at all. I'm not tired of winter either yet. It hasn't been as brutal as last year. :)

    Robyn,
Hey amigo, glad you liked that. :) And hopefully you are all clear to get out on the roads by now. It's warmed up and mostly melted here and was heading to your neck of the woods according to the weather people. In the meantime, hope you got a lot accomplished! xo

    Lee,
I hope you get that snow experience one of these winters. :) It really is a nice change!

    Lisa,
Hope your trip to FL helped warm you up! :) Hope too, that the book signing went well.

    Happy writing,
    Karen

  10. Snow? What is this mythical thing you speak of?

I put away my long pats today. We're 70's plus for the rest of the year in my neck of the woods. I'll pull out my jeans again in late December, maybe January.

  11. It was freezing over the weekend (-35). Yup, nobody went anywhere. Today it's 44. Huge difference.

  12. Karen: We have had snow at various times since Christmas. It was predicted for last Sunday. I wanted to go to church so badly. (Haven't been on a Sunday since I broke my ankle.) It seems to be melting with the warmer temps. Spring can't come soon enough for me.
I enjoyed your guest post. I have to work on those transition words. Thanks for the information.

  13. These are great links. Thank you for sharing! Our weather is unseasonably warm. I can even see lots of grass--yellow, dead grass but not the usual for February for us, for sure.

  14. No snow. I avoid it by heading south for the winter. I love snow. I just hate highway driving; and where we live it means an hour both ways. Never good.

  15. Crystal,
Well, maybe you'll just have to take a trip one of these winters to show your littlest what this snow business is all about! :)

    Holly,
Wow, that is chilly! We've been back and forth with temps here too. Snow is mostly melted too. :)

    Cecelia,
Hoping spring comes to your neighborhood soon! Glad you are getting up and around and feeling better! :)

    Lynn,
You are welcome. Yes, I would have thought you'd have snow about now too. Well, winter's not over yet! :)

    Joylene,
That's right, I forgot about you heading south recently. Yes, I'm with you, don't care much for driving in snow. Will do it if I have to, but it's not a favorite pastime. :)

    Happy writing,
    Karen
