I'm discussing editing tips at my publisher's blog today.
Here's a peek at the post:

Here's a peek at the post:
"Does the
word editing make you cringe?
Do you
postpone this stage of the writing process as long as possible?
yet it often intimidates even seasoned writers...."

Thanks a bunch! :)
What are your weekend plans?
Happy writing,
Karen
I am impatient when it comes to editing. I tend to do it too soon to just get it done, instead of letting the piece rest for a few days to look at with fresh eyes again!
ReplyDeleteLynn,
ReplyDeleteThe guest spot doesn't appear to be up yet, but hopefully it will be soon. I appreciate you stopping by! :) I too, don't always let it rest as much as I should.
Happy writing,
Karen
I bookmarked it to read, hopefully it will show soon. I'm editing my stuff right now and would love the tips!
DeleteHi Karen. I guess, throughout the years, I've come to realize that editing is part of writing. I always find something that needs tweaking, correcting or eliminating! Susan
ReplyDeleteWill look for it later. I find myself editing books as I read for pleasure. Sometimes it gets in the way of my enjoyment.
ReplyDeleteHolly,
ReplyDeleteThe post is up now, so if you did want to check it out, please feel free to do so! :)
Susan,
It really is an important part of the process, isn't it? I'm always tweaking my content too. :)
Linda,
Thanks so much. Sorry it wasn't up right away. I edit as I read too! lol Comes with the territory, right? :)
Thanks all,
Karen
I am discovering that one can never 'over-edit'. I found some errors in essays I intended to send out. Lesson learned!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link! I'll check it out. I actually prefer editing to writing first drafts.
ReplyDeleteCecelia,
ReplyDeleteWe are learning and growing always, aren't we? :) Best wishes with the essays. Thanks for hopping over!
Susie,
You are welcome. Thanks so much for checking it out. I think I like the editing versus drafts too - it does mean it is closer to completion! :)
Happy weekend,
Karen
I'd rather write five first drafts than edit one. I always seem to find something I want to tweak. At some point, we have to say, "enough."
ReplyDeleteI'll check it out right now.
ReplyDeleteSusan,
ReplyDeleteIt's a tricky balance, isn't it? Thankfully you have good critique partners to review your draft. :)
Medeia,
Thanks a bunch! :)
Happy weekend,
Karen
