Plugging Away

My manuscript is due this week so I've gotten little else done around here, including today's post. It was going to be riveting and insightful. Well maybe not quite, but it was a good idea that I thought you might like. It will have to wait for another day; I hope you don't mind if I share a few links instead.

If you happen to do historical research, I reviewed a book in the Writer's Guide to Everyday Life series at the Coffeehouse for Writers Blog. It's a wonderful resource for writers of all genres.

Carol J. Alexander at Everything Home with Carol has a great giveaway going this week. Prizes include free downloads of Paperless Home Organization, Lessons from the Homestead, my book Homeschool Co-ops 101 and other home/homeschool resources.

What are you writing this week? Have any special Labor Day plans?

Happy writing,

Karen

  1. I hope to finish one of my stories today. I guess I need to get a jump on that.

  2. What a lovely image to see while reading your post. It made me want to pick up an easel and a paintbrush. This is my final edits week. It's a great time and a not so great time. When I finish, I'll have a new book, but I have to think of another project to work on.

    Diane,

  4. Karen:
Nice post. I once had the Everyday Life in the Civil War. A story I was working on took place at that time. I believe I gave the book to my own Civil War buff-aka our son.
I am working on information about a women's retreat to be held at another church in our town. Our church is invited to join in with a friend's church. Our pastoral assistant asked me to help her make the information known to our ladies. Have done three different bulletin inserts for this month. Am working on a display to catch their eyes. About the time I think I am finished with this work. I get an idea for something else.

  13. Like you, Karen, I had to finish edits on my manuscript (and I'm almost done--yay!) Just have to revise a couple of scenes and then the ms goes off to my publisher and I can start book 3. I spent all of Labor Day weekend laboring. lol

  15. Hi Karen! Best of luck on your edits, and I'm sure your project will be brilliant!
I am working on editing some articles to send in to magazines. I better edit them hard, there's been a lot of 'no' in my past attempts! We had my Dad over for dinner on Labor Day. It was very peaceful.
    Blessings,
    Ceil
