Education
is learning what you didn’t even know you didn’t know.
~ Daniel Boorstin
What have you learned lately that you didn't even know you didn't know?
What's in store for your September?
Happy reading, writing, and learning,
Karen
P.S. Congratulations to Amy C., the winner of On Distant Shores by Sarah Sundin!
P.S.S. Exciting news (pardon the plug) - my book is due to release on September 5! :)

I cannot believe it is September! Where did the summer go??
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to the ACFW Conference in Indy this month.
Less that four months to Christmas!
ReplyDeleteThis year has practically flown by. Just four more months to go.
ReplyDeleteLoree,
ReplyDeleteI know, it sure did! Hope you have a great time! :)
Alex,
Now that's hard to believe, but you are right!
Rachna,
I know it. The new year will be here before you know it! :)
Happy writing,
Karen
Love the quote! September holds celebrations for us--including my mom's 90th birthday--and, hopefully, progress on the WIP. It's been sadly neglected this summer :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm joining a new local writers group this month. In my previous group, I was the only one writing for children. The new group is made up entirely of children's writers. I'm very much looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly what I thought on Sunday, "It's September already!" Time has flown.
ReplyDeleteWe're heading into Spring in this part of the world!
Congrats on the release of your new book.
ReplyDeleteFondly,
Glenda
Kenda,
ReplyDeleteThat quote really sums up some of my days. :) Sounds like you had an eventful summer!
Ruth,
Congrats on finding the new group! I'm excited for you. :)
Joy,
Ah, that's right, your seasons are different. Hope you enjoy your spring! :)
Glenda,
Thank you! Hope you have a great September! :)
Blessings,
Karen
Hi Karen - I think I know less and less, then I think well no .. I know more and more -
ReplyDeleteSeptember has started off gloriously sunny - all the farmers are harvesting furiously ...
Two days to your book release .. yea!
Cheers Hilary
Hitting September now, I'm trying to get my head around the fact that Christmas is around the corner. Yikes!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your release!! So excited and happy for you. Godspeed, my friend.
I've learned that I need to trust my instincts. I didn't and I took someone else advice and it turned into a big goof.
ReplyDeleteHappy September, Karen. I'm going on a writer's retreat for 4 days near the end of the month. I'm actually not excited and that means I'm destined to have a great time. LOL.
Hilary,
ReplyDeleteHa - yes, me too! :) I guess you can look at it both ways. Sunny here too, and farmers are doing much the same. Love this time of year!
Rhonda,
I still can't get over how fast the summer went. As Grandad used to say, "Time marches on." :) Indeed!
Joylene,
Your instincts, oh yeah, they are so often right! I think that's what they're there for. :) Have a great time at the retreat! Sounds like fun. :)
Blessings,
Karen
Oh, gosh. There's so much I don't know that thinking about it overwhelms me sometimes. No matter what I learn about any subject there is always more.
ReplyDeleteWhen did September creep in? I learnt a lot recently. I had thought self publishing was easy then learnt it the hard way!
ReplyDeleteNas
Lisa,
ReplyDeleteI know, me too! I try and look at it like, okay, these are a few less things I need to learn now. lol :)
Nas,
I am not sure, I think it must have come in while we were sleeping! And here it is, ready for more writing! :)
Blessings,
Karen
Happy September to you, Karen. It's an exciting month for you too!
ReplyDelete:) post, great blog, following :)
ReplyDeleteGood Luck :)
I like the quote but I have a different problem. I've learned plenty of things recently like that but now I can remember what they were. The knowledge just all gets assimilated into that stew of knowledge simmering in my head. I guess I'll remember it when I need it.

Tossing It Out
Lynda,
ReplyDeleteIt is, and I hope that you have as much fun this month too! :)
GT,
Thanks for commenting and following! Wish you the best with your blog.
Lee,
Well that could be a problem, but as you said, there's a good chance it will rise to the surface when you need it!
Happy writing,
Karen
Hi Karen. At the moment I'm trying to learn how to use Create Space. I'm anxious for fall's arrival, it's my favorite season.
ReplyDeleteJanet,
ReplyDeleteFall is my favorite season too! It just feels so nice after a hot summer, doesn't it? :) Haven't tried Create Space yet. If I need pointers when I get around to it I may need to call you!
Happy writing,
Karen
Happy September Karen!!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Sept! Although I'm in no rush to see summer end. :)
ReplyDeleteTyrean,
ReplyDeleteHappy September to you too! :)
Jennifer,
I am sure there are still warm days ahead where you are. With less crowds too. :)
Happy weekend,
Karen
I learn so much in my classroom -- from my students. Seriously, working with kids is one of the best ways to find out what you DON'T know. September's going to be a good month; I can feel it.
ReplyDeleteMilo,
ReplyDeleteYou are so right - teaching really helps us learn and keeps us on our toes! Yes, good things ahead for September!
Blessings,
Karen
It's weird that it's September already! Sometimes I feel like it just turn May. Where did the summer go?
ReplyDeleteHappy September. Karen. :) I can't believe we're already 9 days into this month!! In my part of the world, it's now Spring.. and we're all thrilled to say goodbye to winter.
ReplyDeleteThis September, I too am off to Indy for the ACFW conference. So excited!! In two days I will be on that plane, headed across the Pacific. The highlight of my year.
Blessings,
Dotti :)
Lydia,
ReplyDeleteI know it! The summer just slipped by completely! :)
Dotti,
Thank you! Yes, I imagine you all are happy about the warmer weather. :) Excited that you get to go to the ACFW conference! Have a great time!
Blessings,
Karen
A belated congrats for the book release!
ReplyDeleteMaurice,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for coming by to say congrats! Appreciate your comment on Nutschell's blog too!
Happy writing,
Karen
Hi Karen! This is my first visit to your blog. It looks fun here!
ReplyDeleteWell, September is my birthday month, so I am looking forward to that! A little celebration is always fun :)
I might be taking a little road trip with an old friend, so that's great too.
Love the encouragement you gave in your post. It is important to hear that, writing can be a lonely effort!
So fun to meet you today!
Ceil
Ceil,
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to meet you! So glad you stopped by. :) Happy Birthday! Hope you have a great month.
Thanks and blessings,
Karen
