Happy Independence Week! :)
Do you have any special plans for the Fourth of July?
This holiday makes me think about the high price of freedom. To me, it is a gift. What do you think?
Wishing you and your family a safe and happy week.
See you Thursday,
Karen
P.S. Congratulations to Carol Alexander! She's the winner of Jeanette Levellie's book, Two Scoops of Grace with Chuckles on Top.

Yes, it's a gift!! Happy independence week! :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great one! It's not really celebrated in England (wonder why, haha!). Hope you enjoy it on your side of the ocean!
ReplyDeleteI hope all you over the other side of the pond a Great Independance Day.
ReplyDeleteHere in the UK it is my eldest grandchild's 14th birthday I won;t be seeing him but will be thinking of him.
Yvonne.
Just hanging out with family and friends--looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteFireworks were cancelled due to drought. We need rain in the Midwest!!!
Please continue to pray for the people in Colorado who are experiencing the wild fires.
Bless you and Happy Independence Day!!!
Happy Independence day, Karen.
ReplyDeleteMy independence story: I do the weekly bulletin for our church and spelled "Independance Day" on the front (with an 'a' instead of an 'e') :/ The proofing team missed it and only one person made mention of it, out of 500 printed. It does not change the sentiment. Happy Independence day to you, Karen.
ReplyDeleteJessica,
ReplyDeleteI thought everyone might agree. :)
Have a good one!
Talli,
Hmm, can't imagine why either! :) Hope you enjoy your week!
Yvonne,
Hope you have a lovely week. Happy Birthday to your grandson!
Cheryl,
Having family over for a brunch here. We had heavy rain last night, so I think fireworks here may be a go. Yes, praying for those affected by fires and storms.
Rachna,
Thank you! Have a good week!
Sally,
Ooops! Oh well, we've all had things like that happen. Like you said, it doesn't change anything. :)
Blessings all,
Karen
Hello Karen....I hope you have a wonderful holiday, too.
ReplyDeleteHere, there will a parade, barbecue at a niece's house to celebrate my sister's birthday (yes, she was a firecracker baby!), and then, possibly to Tanglewood, the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, for a concert with James Taylor. We'll see. Take care. Susan
Here in Canada, it's the Canada Day long weekend. And it is pouring down like you wouldn't believe. Generally, the family comes out, we eat, fish, boat, eat, watch movies, eat some more. I did bake, but mostly we're just eating. Too wet to do anything outside. Honestly, this has been the wettest summer I ever remember. I can't even see across the lake. Did I mention it's 80+ degrees in New Brunswick?
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th, Karen. Yes, hip, hip, hooray to freedom.
Happy 4th to you and your family, Karen :-) For us--hubby, daughter, son-in-law and two little ones in strollers--we're entering a "Firecracker" 5K run/race in Ft. Thomas KY. Sorta (by a couple hundred miles I guess) in your neighborhood! As for the high price of freedom, I'm reading Ann Rinaldi's "The Secret of Sarah Revere," a fictionalized version of one of Paul Revere's daughters. Gives a pretty good picture of the sacrifice of the time, and a timely read this week...
ReplyDeleteSusan,
ReplyDeleteThank you! Sounds like you will have a great day. Hope the weather holds out for you. :)
Joylene,
Happy Canada Day weekend to you! :) Sorry your weekend was soggy. Hope you still enjoyed time with family. I guess that is a warm one for you, wow!
Kenda,
Thank you! Sounds like you will have a busy day! Enjoy your day. I'll have to check that book out. Sounds like a winner!
Blessings,
Karen
A BBQ on Wednesday and then I am a presenter at the local Christian Writer's Conference here. Aaack! Crazy!!! :O)
ReplyDeleteKaren,
ReplyDeleteI love 4th of July too! This year we will be "celebrating" by delivering Meals on Wheels (our normal Wednesday) and then later probably cooking out and having friends over to watch the fireworks from our back yard.
Great post!
I think ill be pretty much relaxing around my home and hopefully catch a few patriotic shows on TV, but I will try and go outside for some fresh hot air. Happy July 4 to everyone and I hope its a very safe one at that. Richard
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful 4th, Karen! I hope you get a nice BBQ or picnic in, have great weather and enjoy the day. :)
ReplyDeleteAngela
Diane,
ReplyDeleteI think you will do a great job! What are you speaking about? Cheering you on! :)
Katt,
Hope you have a great day. Enjoy the fireworks! :)
Richard,
Yes, fresh hot air - lol. It's about the same story here. Oh well, fall will be here before we know it. Have a great week!
Angela,
Thanks a bunch! Hope you have a good week in Canada! :)
Blessings,
Karen
Because of the drought, the county commissioners ruled, and it was going to be a "boomless" Kaboom. So we're changing our annual hoo-ha here to later on when the men can set off boomers again. They decided they couldn't go boomless, so move it we shall.
ReplyDeleteHappy Fourth!
Happy Fourth!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Carol! You'll love Jen's book.
ReplyDeleteHappy 4th, Karen! No special plans, but it's nice having a day off in the middle of the week.
It's definitely a gift...and the price is high. I pray we never forget that. Hope your day was wonderful. :-)
ReplyDeleteRhonda,
ReplyDeleteThey were talking about that here too, but then we had a good rain Sunday night, so the local "hoo-ha" went off without a hitch. :) Hope you get to do it soon!
Laura,
Happy 4th to you too! :)
Susan,
A day off is nice, isn't it? Thanks a bunch!
Mare,
That price is high, you're right. I am grateful for the sacrifices others have made.
Blessings all,
Karen
Congratulations to Carol, you will read Jen's book over and over and then go back to it again.
